About
Kitten TTS is a free in-browser text-to-speech tool. The whole model — about 25 MB — loads once and runs on your device. Your scripts never leave your browser.
We started it because cloud TTS pricing assumes you're either a curious one-time user (free tier with caps) or a Fortune-500 (call sales). Everyone in between — the indie creator, the podcaster, the course author, the developer prototyping a feature — gets squeezed. The squeeze made less sense once a 15M-param model became small enough to ship to a browser.
The site brands itself as Unofficial · Powered by Kitten TTS. The model is from KittenML — Apache-2.0, open source. We built the production stack on top: the workbench, the auth, the Founder's Deal, the dashboard. We're not affiliated with the original model authors.
What's coming next is on the changelog for the recent past, and on the pricing page for the planned v2 features (voice cloning, multilingual, emotion, API). If you want to lock in lifetime access to those when they ship, the Founder's Deal does it once.
We try to be honest about limits — the FAQ says it sounds robotic on long passages, the changelog includes the unflattering polish-and-bug-fix entries, the privacy page describes what we actually collect and where it goes.
