Terms of use

Kitten TTS is free to use. Audio you generate is yours, including for commercial work. Don't use the tool to impersonate specific real people or to generate harmful content. We can terminate access if abuse is severe; you can delete your account any time.

Anything reasonable. Use it in YouTube videos, podcasts, courses, client work, paid products, ads. No watermark, no attribution required (though if you want to credit us, we appreciate it).

The underlying model is Kitten TTS from KittenML, released under the Apache-2.0 license. That license passes through to the audio you generate. You don't need a separate license from us.

Generate audio that:

• Impersonates a specific real person without their consent
• Promotes violence, illegal activity, or targeted harassment
• Scams others (fake calls, fake quotes from public figures, etc.)
• Generates sexual content involving minors

Most of these are obvious. If you're unsure, email us before you ship.

A Founder's Deal purchase is a one-time payment that locks in lifetime access to every Pro feature we ship in v2 and beyond. Specifically:

• Voice cloning, multilingual output, emotion + style controls, and an embeddable API are on the roadmap and become free for you when they ship.
• If we never ship those features, you can request a full refund within 14 days no questions asked. After 14 days, partial refunds are at our discretion — email us, we're reasonable.
• If we're acquired or wind down, your Founder access either transfers to the new owner or, if the product shuts down, we refund pro-rata what hasn't shipped.
• The free tool stays free even after Pro launches. We will not gate anything currently free behind the Pro tier later.

Email hello@kitten-tts.com within 14 days of your Founder's Deal purchase for a full refund — no reason needed. After 14 days, contact us and we'll evaluate case-by-case (we're biased toward refunding).

The tool runs in your browser, so "uptime" mostly means "is the page reachable." We deploy on Cloudflare which has excellent reliability, but we don't SLA you anything. For mission-critical workloads, keep a backup of your scripts.

You can delete your account at any time on /account. We can suspend an account for severe abuse (the "what you can't do" list above). We'll email you first unless the abuse is ongoing harm.

We may update these terms; the date at the top will reflect that. For material changes (e.g., new restrictions on commercial use), we email signed-in users in advance.
